Daddy Long Legs
On this fathers day I thought I'd write a quick post on "daddy" pests and the only one I could come up with was the daddy longs legs spider. How fair is this? The females have the queen bee, the lady bug, the black widow has her story, but the guys...not so much. If anyone out there has any ideas or stories post the in the comments, and have a happy Father's Day!

Hi...Your post really got me thinking man..... an intelligent piece, I must say.
I can't think of any other "daddy" bugs, however, isn't it the daddy who is usually responsible for at home "pest control"? I know in my house, he is responsible for squishing anything that moves!
The name "daddy longlegs" is also applied to the harvestman and the crane fly.
Pest control is really vital in everyone's home.
like the blog
good blog
No, I'm stumped. Even thinking of words like father, patriarch, paternal et al, I can't think of one other Daddy pest...except maybe that neighbour who always wants to borrow tools :-)
Ick. Spiders.
great blog
Daddy-longlegs, also known as the Harvestman and one of the most poisonous spiders
Integrated Pest Management stresses the use of complementary methods of pest control such as the introduction of natural predators. This method of pest control is much more ecologically sound than relying on chemical methods.
Pest control plays a crucial role in farming for without it, plants will die or not bear fruit.
