Where you get bed bugs

Yard sales, thrift stores, buses, trains, planes, hotels, motels, cruise ships, office buildings, schools, day cares, restaurants, laundry mats, dry cleaners, super market, movie theater, taxi cabs, hospitals, doctors offices, air ports, train depots, moving trucks, mattress delivery trucks, furniture delivery trucks, rental stores, dorm rooms, colleges, high schools, homes, apartment buildings, EVERYWHERE!

You can pick up bed bugs anywhere, it is time to come up with a plan and accept the fact that it is not IF you get bed bugs, but WHEN.

We are even having bed bug issues in public campgrounds in the Pacific Northwest. People rent "yurts"- which are a kind of portable camping cabin - at state campgrounds. And these have become a haven for bed bug infestations. Pest control on these facilities must be done preemptively in order to insure the spread of bed bugs is stopped.

Yeah I get bites all the time too. Mine sometimes don't even show up until a week or two later. Wash your sheets on a regular schedule, and try not to eat in bed! (Don't know if that actually helps, but at least you won't get ants)

Bed bugs are now one of the largest pest epidemics facing the united states. All the hype is really a couple of years behind. Unless the government gets serious about controlling these pest, pest control companies will be forced to use whatever innovation that they can come up with.

Yes bed bugs are everywhere! I recently got them when I picked up a couch at a garage sale! Luckily we contacted out local exterminating company, Northwest Exterminating of Tucson, and they got rid of the bed bug problem! This just goes to show, NEVER buy a couch from a garage sale!

My husband always tells me the same thing, "Its not IF you get Bedbugs, but WHEN you get Bedbugs." Older people with Bedbugs trying to treat on their own call our office and mention the old pesticide DDT. They wish it would become available and legal again.

My husband always says "Its not IF you get Bedbugs, it's WHEN you get Bedbugs."....Scary
There is nothing worse that a bug biting you in your bed and infesting your home. Older people mention DDT to me all the time, wishing they would bring it back.

We were really freaking out when we discovered we had bed bugs. After 3 chemical treatments we still had them. We called Pest Control Pueblo CO and have never seen a bed bug again. Thanks

Yes I totally agree with your post you cant get bedbugs anywhere but mostly they stay on the sleeping area because they eat primarily while their host is asleep.

The raging wildfires in Texas have displaced hundreds of families. The community is rallying around them with food and toiletry donations, but also clothes and bedding. Donation centers need to exercise caution in distributing these items to the victims as they have enough problems without a bed bug infestation.

Bed bugs are active year round. They prefer humans, but will infest domestic pets and birds. Bed bugs can lay 1-5 eggs per day and 200-500 in their lifetime. They live for periods that vary widely, based primarily on temperature, humidity and availability of a blood meal. They are even capable of going into a semi- dormant state until the right conditions arise. A bed bug’s lifespan can range from several weeks to almost 18 months. This can have serious impact on treatment methods, as most of today’s chemicals do not carry a long residual effect.
