Stink Bugs in Philadelphia and New Jersey

Something stinky this way comes. I live in Pennsylvania and the big stink here is, well, stink bugs. These bugs are a present from Asia and one that we could have done with out. People who are lucky enough to have them as a house guest can discourage their entrance by caulking and sealing around the outside of their house as best they can. Keep screens tight. Once inside the best defense is to vacuum them down. If you decide to squash them with a rolled up newspaper then beware, things can get stinky!

I think the best way is to hire a pest controller to determine where the bugs are coming from for sure...then set up a treatment plan. If they are simpley stink bugs or boxelders in the home then the vacuum cleaner is your best tool. Suck them up.

We found that the best way to get 'em was to trap them in a kleenex and flush them down the toilet so there is never a smell.

these critters entered our motorhome last sept/oct while in storage. we are presently killing between 5 and 15 a day always in the pm when the sun is hot in the shower area they're attracted by the skylight. we have tried spraying them - no go, they still appear from nowhere. the only effective treatment is to grab and wrap them in a wetwipe and flush. we're getting tired of the daily hunting/killing cycle, anyone got any ideas on getting rid of them preferable fumagation.
