Are Roaches Coming From My Neighbor's House?

Are the roaches I am seeing possibly coming from my neighbor's house? This is a question you hear often, and the answer is yes, it is possible. Roach problems like this between neighbors often happen more in row home or apartment and condo situations. With the close proximity of a row home and sometimes with the common joist set up, or in the case of apartments where pipes and wires are all common, it is the perfect highway set up for roaches to travel back and forth.
If you are faced with this problem it is best to team up with your neighbor, swallow your pride, and set up pest control services for all the homes affected.
Once thing you don't want to do is set off "bug foggers" in your home. This will only spread roaches back and forth for sure.

When we do the pest control treatment on a house, it's not unusual for a neighbor to ask the homeowner for our number a couple of days after our van's been on site. Roaches and other insects will naturally avoid the treated home. Thus the reason we leave extra business cards and a refrigerator magnet with our customer.

Quality residual sprays and cockroach gel baiting help with cockroachPest Control.

Since most current insecticides are non-repellant in nature, it's more of a placebo effect for the neighbor. They see your vehicle next door and start imagining the worst.

Here in Georgia, one of the most common critters that we encounter is the omnipresent German Cockroach (Blatella Germanica). For reasons obscure to me, they don't respond very well to commands spoken in a spirited German accent.

With the approaching wintertime, a lot of roaches are venturing into people's homes in search of food and warmth. People need to be on the watch for these little nuisances as the weather continues to get colder.

Roaches can come from wood piles, leaves laying along the home, from neigbor's and from items you have brought to your home. Usually, you cannot pinpoint a cockroach infestation to one thing. Best thing to do is have a pest control professional come look at the situation.

Yes it is possible for roaches to come from neighboring structures. I have seen homes so severely infested that after treatment they could very easily transfer some runaways to another nearby home. In these cases you can only treat yourself as well. Apartments and condos that are adjoining by walls do need to try and co-ordinate a treatment for the best results.

It is very common in apartments or joined homes. German roaches are not ones to travel very far, and most commonly are brough in to the home. Larger roaches like american, or oriental roaches can travel along steam, sewer, and other lines.
